About William T Templeton
William Tremblett Templeton was born in Lake Forest, Illinois and spent the first part of his life living on the North Shore of Chicago. A loving family, a very happy childhood, and an excellent education all contributed to his good fortune. A keen eye will discover hearts, angels, crosses, and other positive subliminal messages throughout his artwork. As a child, William would creatively draw, paint, and sculpt. In his youth, his young and vivid imagination led him to design and produce intricate collages, using unique elements of various disassembled clocks, typewriters, etc.
Although William has been creating since childhood, he feels very fortunate to have been formally trained at New Trier East High School in Winnetka, Illinois. The artist went on to further his education at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. He graduated from the U of A with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. His degree included all aspects of fine art, graphic design, and illustration. He has
exhibited his eclectic artwork, and paintings throughout the world, but he is well known in the Southwest, where he resides.
Bright, bold color and vitality carry through each of his paintings, and they cover a wide spectrum, both in subject matter and locale. His vast travels have led him to Jamaica, Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands. Themes revolving around life in these beautiful areas infiltrate his paintings and have inspired much of his work. His many cultural experiences clearly influenced the young artist's colorful style. The beauty of nature, and the spontaneity of feelings, ideas and subject matter, are prevalent not only in his art, but also in his world. Strong composition, balance, vibrant color, and fine detail are all characteristics of his unique paintings. He is proficient in most of the artistic mediums, but prefers the everchanging challenge of oil painting. William's pristine style can be attributed to his self-educational experience, academic accomplishments, and an inspirational lifestyle. His innate sense of humor, his passion for art, and his love for his family and friends, are at the heart and soul of every brushstroke. A collection of distinctly individual handmade crosses are currently being created for an upcoming inspirational book. If you are fortunte enough to have an opportunity to get your hands on one of these handmade crosses, they are slated to be collectors items. They are all very beautiful, unique, signed, numbered, inspirational, and designed to be around for many generations to come.
