Title
Mango Man
Artist
William T Templeton
Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
This is one of the Artist's first published Mexican Folk Art paintings, featuring very brilliant color, simple composition, and southwest subject matter. There are 10 or so paintings in this collection, all of which show the simple and relaxed lifestyle of the Mexican people. The Artist usually brings a little architecture into the landscape, and somehow infuses humor into the concept of the piece. The landscapes usually include fruits or vegetables and are exaggerated in the foreground of the composition. The plantations reflect evidence of abundance of the region, and are symbolic for that reason. The little boy has a wagon to fill with juicy, ripe, mangoes if the "Mango Man" will take his cash offer. This painting is protected under the copyright laws of the United States. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or exhibition will result in civil liability and criminal prosecution. Copyright 2016 William T. Templeton. All Rights Reserved .
