Thunderhead on the mounty
Artist
William T Templeton
Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
Well, hanging in the mountains in the middle of a place as beautiful as this, will never get old to the "local artist" ! The plants growing out of the rocks, the raven's caw, the water spanking the rock, Truly amazing! The only drawback is if the rain comes on too hard, flash flooding may surprise you, and drag you downstream! Templeton remembers vividly getting caught in a storm in this area, now depicted in this oil painting. If it was not for his loving companion, Mooch MI Amore, " the artist " would have been swept away, like everything else, in an unforgiving eleven foot wall of water! They realized they truly had angels, when they reached the top of this trail, and got the news, they were nearly drown in a "flash flood". When the skys open up, in Arizona, and the ground is hard as a rock, the water moves at a relentless and unforgiving rate. Another valuable lesson learned as the artist and his dog were searching for inspiration, out in nature. Don't underestimate mother nature, and trust man's best friend and his undeniable instincts.
