Title
Calm Before the Storm
Artist
William T Templeton
Medium
Painting - Oil
Description
The artist has spent many summers in the Midwest, and was inspired to paint about the unpredictability of the summer weather. Days spent in the glory of sunshine and calm can be quickly altered by rushing winds and torrential rain. The threat of severe thunderstorms and tornados can appear at a moment's notice, and can drastically alter the course of life for farmers and their livestock. Through life, people can experience unexpected drastic changes as well, sometimes good and sometimes not so good. At the period when this painting evolved, the artist was experiencing great losses in his family. The outcome, although tragic and heartbreaking, presented him with an opportunity to grow and evolve as an artist. He began to paint not what others might want, but the true feelings he was struggling with in his own mind. This is a true example of life's fragility inspiring a work of fine art. Many Artist have expressed that lifes difficuties, disasters, and tragedies have brought out, and inspired their best work. Clearly "The Artist" was experiencing some form of personal drama when this piece was created. This painting is protected under the copyright laws of the United States.
